Irene Torres is a flower farmer and co-owner of Line in the Sand Farm LLC with her husband in Northwest Indiana. What began five years ago with a small vegetable patch soon grew into a passion for specialty cut flowers-sparked by her very first seed grown lisianthus and the joy it brought customers. Since then, Irene has completed the Flower farming school online with Lisa M Ziegler and continued education through workshops, conferences and summits focussed on growing, marketing and sustainability. Now entering year 4 she grows on less than half acre from April through October. Irene sells retail at Coffee Creek Farmers Market (Chesterton, IN), offers a seasonal CSA and provides DIY flower buckets for churches, celebrations and community events.
