Peter Hirst is a professor of horticulture at Purdue University. In his 40 year career he has conducted research on many aspects of apple tree management and physiology including fruit development, pollination, rootstock evaluation, pruning strategies and automation. He is also assistant dean and associate director of international programs in the College of Agriculture and works to extend Purdue’s footprint around the world.
